Laminated Shims

 Laminated shims (97 KB)

Laminated shims M-Tech®L are used to compensate  plays or tolerances which are accumulated during the component assembly. They consist of layers of metal foils which can be removed until they have the right thicknesses. The foil layers are easily peeled off with a pocket knife.

Laminated shims are manufactured by applying layers of laminating resins to the individual foils. The desired thickness of the panel is tested exactly to a hundredth of a millimeter. The starting products are then pressed into individual panels in a laminating press through pressure and heat.

At Georg Martin GmbH, laminated shims are manufactured with aluminium, aluminum alloy, carbon steel, stainless steel and brass. The shim thicknesses range from 0.4 mm to 3.2 mm. We propose clients with 2 foil thicknesses, 0.05 mm or 0.075 mm.
